Hello.

In Scenarist, in the audio track, you have a button, with
a kind of `/ on it, and when you push it, you can't put
it back in is original state. Does someone know what it is
for ?

If I am thinking of the correct button looks like a check mark, then that button is for sync. If it is pushed in then the audio timecode must follow the video time code to put in the track. IF it isn't pushed in then it is letting you put any piece of audio to the video and place where you darn please.

I hope this answers your question.

By God, you're right! While we're still on the subject.. is there a way to know where you've placed the audio if you move it away from 00:00:00:00?

If you click on the actual bar that represents the audio then you will see in one of the boxes below, showing the start time and duration. YOu can then check this with the video. This is how I would see wehre the audio is exactly. Plus the graphic bar represention gives you a little idea of where the audio lays.

Thanks Scott!

With this info, I think we'll be able to devise a way to correctly implement audio delays into Scenarist. At least for positive delays. I'm still trying to work out negative audio delays. Any ideas? Scenarist seems to import all audio in with a 0 delay, even if the ac3 header has a delay. This can result in terrible unsync, especially if the delay is 2 seconds or so!

not sure exactly how that would work if your start time code is 00:00:00 but if it was something else you can change the start time one way or the other. for instance if your start point was 01:00:00:00 and make the start point 01:00:00:02 then have made the audio start 2 frames earlier. If change your start point to 00:59:00:28 then you have delayed the audio 2 frames. (of course this is all assumming you are working in NTSC).
