I was just wondering if anyone else is having probs backing up Cast Away?

Here's what I've done so far

1) Ripped to HD w/DVD Decrypter
-Which was a bit strange. Because Decrypter showed the dvd @ apx. 6GB at most. After Ripping Was apx. 8.2GB (A more realistic size) Then I always check the ripped files in WinDVD and IfoEdit DVDplay. The funny part was that the VTS set that the movie was in (VTS_03_x) was aranged strangly (watching the vob files individually and then watching the movie normaly from the menu as a regular dvd). VTS_03_1 Through VTS_03_4 were fine. Then VTS_03_5 was the next part in the movie, but the audio was from the director comentary. On top of that VTS_03_6 was again the following part in the movie, but this time in the french language audio track. The rest of the VTS's carried on as normal. I thought that the rip had gone bad, but watching it in WinDVD the movie played out as normal.

2) Used IC to transcode (making to many coasters w/ifoedit, need more experience yet!! :) )

3) Used pdi2iso to convert.

4) Used CDMage to extract files from ISO (I did all this because I prefer to burn w/DVD Decrypter)

5) Threw extracted files into VIDEO_TS folder on my root Drive. Then played with WinDVD ( Here's where the S*@$ hits the fan! :) )

Half way through the movie the sceen selection menu pops up, runs through that and all the other menus then starts the movie over again fromm the begining. Any help would be appreciated!

If any further info would be needed just let me know. (using winxp, 512mb, 2.0ghz Blah, Blah, Blah... :) )

firstly why not just use PDI TOOL to extract files instead of converting to ISO then extracting?

it's obvious the problems began way back when u ripped

there is no way I wudda processed that DVD if it didn't play properly in PowerDVD etc and DVD decrypter saw it as the wrong size. Did you expect IC to fix it?

when u play a VOB by itself it only has one language and it defaults to the 1st track. So for some reason vob's 5 & 6 have different default VOB's

I would try checking yur settings in DVDdecrypter, (yes I know it may have worked for you in the past), did you rip in brute force mode by any chance?

have u tried using smartripper instead as sometimes you do get a problem DVD that works in one and not in the other?

where the files extracted exactly the same size as the one on the DVD (bytes not GB)?

hope it helps :)
