Hi, and thanks in advance. I'm a newbie to dvd burning so please bare with me. I just purchased IC 7 and it keeps freezing up on me. I've noticed this problem in other programs as well. DVD2SVCD, TMPG, etc. It seems to happen during encoding. I realize that this is a system intensive process but I don't seem to see this as a big problem for others while reading through the forums. Task manager shows cpu usage @ 100% during processing and I'm wondering if this is normal? Wondering if there are bios settings to increase my performance or if you guys think maybe it could be another problem.
Specs:AMD Athlon XP 1700
1 Gig DDR Ram
G4Ti4600 w/latest 41.09 drivers
SBLive w/latest drivers
Shuttle AK31 Mobo
Latest 4in1
Do I just need more cpu power?
Frustrated

Oh, by the way these programs cause my whole computer to freeze not just the app. It forces me to reboot. Also, just got dvd2one and it seems to work alright but I'd really like to get IC to work since I just blew $50 on it. Anyways thanks for any advice.

what is the CPU usage when you don't run IC?

you system is more than capable of using IC so I reckon you have installed a lot of 'Bloatware' :) and that is eating your system resources

how many icons are in your system tray beside the clock?. Do you have Norton AV running?

press CTRL+ALT+DEL and see how many other programs you have running in the background, you may be surprised as I have seen this numerous times when people have nothing running yet they have programs running in the background like an infestation eating their system resources

another thing to stop this is to click START, then click RUN and type 'msconfig' and goto 'STARTUP' tab and check what programs start when you bootup as sometimes they don't show in systray. Don;t remove them without knowing exactly what the program is but you can disable them. Realplayer is an obvious one, along with Winamp etc that are safe to disable

hope this helps
