ritek media from rima.com

Alright, I just bought some ritek media from rima and I opened it up and too my suprise they weren't the super dark purple I was used too. They are dark purple but not quite as dark as my previous batch of g03's. Anyways, pop it in my dvd burner and they come up as ritek g02's. Now my question is, are these any good? I have only burnt ritek g03's and if rima is going to stick me with a crappier media then I plan on sending them back. Anybody have experience with g02's?

That sucks. I heard G03 were the ones to have because obviously they're 3rd generation vs second generations and that is why they are about $20 cheaper than most places.

ugh that's not good at all. the G02's are discontinued i believe...they're older than the G03's. i've had no experience using them. but...if rima doesn't specify that they're G03's, you might not be able to return them....if all they say is they're Ritek 1x..then that's exactly what they are..just the older ones.

That says to me they are g03's. Of course that isn't what I have in my hands right now.

Had experience with both G01 and G02. They are both fairly crappy (G02s a bit better than G01s), but far from quality of G03s.

G02 might work OK (read acceptably), but if you can exchange them for G03s certainly do so.

The rima.com speed info you are stating is applicable to G01s & G02s as well (at least for Pioneer 104/A04 firmware 1.31).
