Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows how I can burn Ritek G03's (silver top/deep purple bottom) @ 1x using my Toshiba SD-R5002, uing VOB Instant CD/DVD. I choose 1x before burning, but it insists on writing @ 2x. I want to make sure I get consistently successful and compatible burns so I figured 1x was the safest. Does anyone have any ideas how to burn @ 1x using VOB? Anyone using the Toshiba had any problems or good experiences burning @ 2x with G03's?

Why in the world would you want to burn at 1x? 2x is will be just fine, no need to get paranoid.

Ok, you might get 100% success if you are burning to run off a pc, but if you want your dvds to work on most settops all the time then you gotta burn at 1x. I have a pioneer burner and I make sure i burn at 1x by using firmware 1.20 as i find it is the best for burning cheaper media, and since I can't afford 4x media, i don't have to worry about my burner blowing up on me or whatever 4x is supposed to do :D .

Well, I've burned hundreds of Ritek G3's at 2x speed, and they work perfectly in all my players, and everyone who've I've given discs to. I'm using a Pioneer A03 with the hacked firmware.

I wished I had such a problem. I have updated my firmware, each time hoping that this would be the one that did it. Still my Pioneer DVR-105//Firmware v1.30 will ONLY BURN G3s @1x no matter what?
Oh well

eeeeexcellent! flashed it burnt it played it loved it!!!!! i used the purple bulkpaq g3 (version2) 1x disks they work perfectly burning them at 2x i was getting fed up of it taking 1 hour to do a disk,to buy 4x media is too expensive at the moment to compensate for the amount of back-ups ive been doing,so this provided an excellent alternative.by the way im talking about the new 2x4all firmware check it here http://www.dvd-recordable.org/modul...sdownload&sid=2 this should help doggie!

SVCD4Me.
PrimoDVD and the latest px engine update should allow you to write the Ritek G03 discs at 1x speed with the toshiba sd-r5002.

gooki,
Thanks for reading my post and for your suggestion. I have downloaded PrimoDVD 2.0 and PX engine 358, but I guess I'm just lost on how to use the program. I haven't figured out how to burn the images that Scenarist creates, but even when experimenting it only shows "MAX" as recording speed. Any ideas?
Thanks again.
