View Full Version : unable to locate appropriate decompressor

I am getting the error message "Unable to locate appropriate decompressor: DIV4" and sometimes "DIV3"

Any ideas what these avi's were encoded as? Apparently it's not divx4 or divx3. I've got divx3,4,5 and xvid codecs installed.

I'm kinda stumped. I did a search and couldn't find anything specifically related to this.

Anyone else had this error?

Edit**

By the way (so you don't chastise me for this later), these are not copyrighted avi's.:)

By the way (so you don't chastise me for this later), these are not copyrighted avi's.
90% of the people like you seem to get the fact that if you don't tell us they are copywritten or elude that they might be we have absolutely no way to know one way or the other. So how can we chastise you?

Notice these 2 cases.

Case 1: I have downlaoded Lord of the rings and blah blah blah happened.

Case 2: I have an avi and blah blah blah happened.

In the case of case 1 we are obligated to close the thread and chastise the person that we do not aid in Piracy.

In the case of case 2 there is no reason to chastise because we do not know and cannot know if it is copywritten or not.

As for you actual problem. It's a known issue with the current version of DVD2SVCD. I am surprised a search didn't get a hit on this.
It should be fixed in the next version.
