Choppy video and audio sync after CCE

Just got my drive last week, this is my first time recompressing a movie to fit on DVD-R. I am at the end of the process but my final VOBs have choppy video after the first couple chapters and the audio is way out of sync. I more or less followed the advanced CCE guide although I just want the movie so I ditched all the extras by checking "Create new IFO files (movie only)" in ifoedit. Here's what I did in as much detail as possible:

Ripped the movie (Seven) using DVDDecrypter
Stripped everything except for the movie and English AC3 track using IfoEdit 0.95 by checking "Create new IFO files (movie only)"
Created DVD2AVI project out of new VOBs. Picked force film, saved project.
Created VFAPI AVI file out of DVD2AVI project
Did one pass VBR in CCE SP 2.50, aspect ratio was DAR 16:9, Add sequence end code, uppper field first, linear quant scale, zigzag scanning order, DVD compliant, GOP M=3 N=4
That took a while, then I picked multipass VBR and went over the bitrates in advanced mode. Didn't have to adjust much, it turns out Seven is a very compressible movie. Average bitrate 4060, min 0, max 9800.
Encoded using 3 passes
renamed to m2v.
Pulldown 0.99d on the m2v file.
Went back into ifoedit, opened my VTS_01_0.IFO that had already been stripped. Clicked VOB extras, picked the new m2v file as the new video, and ran the job. Now I have 4 1GB VOB files.

So here I am, humbly asking for your help. After a chapter or two the video starts chopping out. The audio gets drastically out of sync as the movie goes on. I'm sure I missed something, I just can't think of what it was. Thanks in advance.

did you remux or author in ifoedit?
remux has never worked for me and cce
i have used author mode a few times
i use spruce (it works every time)

I remuxed in ifoedit. This is odd though, when I tried to do it in author mode, I picked the m2v and the ac3 files. It worked for a while, then the log started saying something like "Couldn't supply enough data." I wish I wrote down the error message. Then ifoedit popped up a box that said somehting like "too many errors" and it exited. Does this mean there is a problem with my m2v and/or my ac3?

If you have access to something like DVDMaestro or Sonic Scenarist, I would recommend using those.

Uncheck the box Upper Field First and reencode. This should fix your choppy video issue. It worked for me.
