View Full Version : Anyone else having success with Truncate?

So far, I've had a couple of titles that came out around 4.4 GB after conversion and I've used the 'Truncate' option when burning from IC. All discs have played successfully without any noticable truncation of data. I realize this type of behavior is going to be hit-and-miss, but I was curious to hear any other experiences using 'Truncate' when the size is slightly over. I'm using a DVR-105 with Ritek G03 at 1X. Thanks in advance.

what's 'truncate' do?, new to me :)
and can I ask why you are burning 1x on a 4x burner?. Is it the firmware issue?

When attempting to burn an oversized set of files using IC, it pops up a dialog allowing you to cancel the burn or truncate the data such that it will fit on the media. I've been selecting 'truncate' and continuing with the burn of 4.4 GB files without any noticable problems on the resulting disc. I was curious if anyone else has had success in doing this.
Concerning the burn speed, I just got my drive and I haven't gotten around to flashing the firmware yet to try to get 4X on Ritek G03.
Thanks for all of your pointers on using IC, MisterX - for us newbies they have been very helpful.
