I have a problem converting AC3 to OGG. I tried the latest stable versions of DVX, BeSweetGUI and Oggmachine, and installed OggDS.
This is my logfile from oggmachine:
Logging start : 03/20/03 , 13:55:53.
F:\ripping tools\DVX\SysPack\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe -core( -input I:\rips\se7en\se7en.ac3 -output I:\rips\se7en\se7en.ogg -logfilea F:\ripping tools\oggmachine\BeSweet.log ) -azid( -g max -L -3db -c normal -s surround2 ) -ogg( -q 0.200 ) -profile( The OggMachine v0.61 )
[00:00:00:000] +------- BeSweet -----
[00:00:00:000] | Input : I:\rips\se7en\se7en.ac3
[00:00:00:000] | Output: I:\rips\se7en\se7en.ogg
[00:00:00:000] | Floating-Point Process: Yes
So BeSweet processes the whole ac3file (counter goes all the way), then it says 'initialising' and it stops, and I have a 0 KB output file. Something to do with azid? I'm too newbie to figure it out, plz help me!

try avoiding the maxgain search ('-g max') and maybe delete libvorbis.dll and install oggds.
if that doesn't help, try decoding to plain stereo wave.
if we fail here, try fixing your stream with BeSliced.
post all logfiles.
very important :
what CPU do you have ? P4 ?

I tried everything you said and got it to work with the -g max parameter removed. I also tried hybridgain instead of maxgain but that didn't work.
Tnx for the help and your cool tools!
(I have a plain old Athlon fyi)

i have a strong feeling that you guys got the BeSweet binaries someplace else rather then my webpage.
please download and run v1.4. post logfile. then upgrade to v.15b16. post logfile.

with the second encode (192kb) I get a 120mb file...this is more than the ac3 file...it it normal? what is equivalent bitrate to a 192 kb mp3 file?
and...whats the reason for all this trouble with the encoding?
and the last question: I know there was a value to find the maximum gain...but I canīt find it again...were is it?

and...whats the reason for all this trouble with the encoding?i don't see any trouble.

thanks for all..but you forgot a question:
what is a equivalent bitrate to a 192 kb mp3 file?
and to your last answer: were can I find this the max gain value in the gui?

Excactly same problems here..Downloaded you latest beta from your own site. So what was actually the solution for Hippos? using stable 1.4?
No..it didn't fix the problem..I am using Dark-crackers Gui_light_1.4.5 btw..
Strange things happen..now everything works. I just changed direct show filters for ogg to newer ones DSogg..
