@forum,

I usually backup the rented "adult" DVD which is in NTSC Interlaced
format.

First I use the DVD2AVI to get the .d2v (with Field Operation: None)
and keep the source fps: 29.97fps.

edit:
I usually just input the .d2v file into the Video input of the TMpgEnc, and use the Encode Mode: Non-Interlace.

Is that any good ?

VCD interlaced? That's impossible.
VCD has only 240 or 288 Lines, so you can't encode in interlaced Mode.

Oops. I didn't read carefully, I thought he was backing up DVD. You should probably use FieldDeinterlace (decomb.dll).

Yes, I know that, it's encoded in non-interlaced mode,
even the source is interlaced. It's still good.
