Hi folks,

I have a Pinnacle DC10+ and I'd like to record some of my vids on VHS, and the only software I know that can do this is the slow-heavy'n'buggy Pinnacle Studio 7 (didn't try Studio 8, but I doubt it's better). Do you know any third party "light" software (like the AVI_IO or Virtualdub gems) that can send video information to the DC10+ video output ?

Thanks !

im not sure, but i think playing back with the correct MJPEG directshow codec should result on playback on the DC10+.

altho its a while since i tried to use the DC30 i have.

Adobe Premiere should work.

Adobe Premiere is also a "big" software, but I'll try it, thanks. Auenf, what do you mean the correct MJPEG Directshow codec ? You mean, if I play an MJPEG AVI with multimedia player, it should also be outputted through the DC10 ?

from memory, the DC30 i have used to playback files onto the TV if they were in the MJPEG format that is native to the Zoran chip on the DC card.

if the codec is installed properly (and im not sure if it works properly in 2k/xp) then you should be able to play the mjpeg avi in media player and it should be played back as an overlay, and to the TV.

It’s a long time since I used a DC10 or DC30 But from memory on Win9x you had to play back your files with the old “Media Player 2” and select DC10 or DC30 as output device in the player. Media player 6 and newer always uses direct show filters and bypasses the DC10 hardware. So you get no output on DC10 TV out.
Miro/Pinnacle warn against installing software Mjpeg codec’s because they override the DC10 drivers. The DC hardware must be used to play the file or you will not get output to TV on the DC board.
The Morgan codec is Miro/Pinnacle file compatible but must not be used for playback or no TV output will result.

Hope this helps.
