Best compression method !

OK, this is maybe a newbie question ! But I wanted to know with what compression method I can get the smalled file with and retain the best possible quality.

PS Is VBR smaller the CBR audio ?

Please, you are new around here I guess, so consider to precise your questions in the future. You don't even state which kind of format (DivX/SVCD...) you like to use. Also it is better to start up reading the guides including the newbie guide on doom9.org. There is so much information contained on this very site that you can easily startup with one of the easy guides like say DivX 5 with GordianKnot. If you have gathered some experience yourself you may look for further information and improve your knowledge.

Questions like yours easily drive some of the mods wild, so be careful in your first days around here. Post your question in the appropiate forum (there's also a newbie forum) and you will get help by the very experienced members around here. But always try to be as focused as possible.
