Is there any software available, that allows me to fade in/out an AC3 file on its frame base, means: without reencoding anything?

I have a part of a video here, cut out of a 'parent' video, containing a video stream and a 2 channel AC3. The AC3 starts with a quite loud sound. Now I want to fade in that file without reencoding the AC3.

I know the procedure from "MP3Trim Pro", which also can fade a frame based audio format without reencoding, so I thought that such a tool also exist for AC3. Does it?

Well, I didn't meant you to write this tool, I meant myself to get out of my comfortable chair, to raise my lazy ass and take my Delphi to write it...

;)

To safe time: Could you provide documents about the ac3 frame format?
