Hi!
I've done the Back to the Future II dvd with InstantCopy. And here is the structure after the process:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_03_0.BUP
VTS_04_0.BUP
VTS_05_0.BUP
VTS_06_0.BUP
VTS_07_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_03_0.IFO
VTS_04_0.IFO
VTS_05_0.IFO
VTS_06_0.IFO
VTS_07_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB
VTS_02_0.VOB
VTS_03_0.VOB
VTS_03_1.VOB
VTS_04_0.VOB
VTS_04_1.VOB
VTS_05_0.VOB
VTS_05_1.VOB
VTS_06_0.VOB
VTS_06_1.VOB
VTS_07_0.VOB
VTS_07_1.VOB
As you can see the VTS_02_1.vob is missing. When i try to burn with nero 5.5.10.15 it says that dvd Compliance problem found, because VTS_02_1-vob is missing. It enables to burn, but i don't know that the DVDplayer could play this DVD.
So my question is that: is this compatible with dvdplayers, or not??

There shouldn't be any problems: I've burned a number of CD's with active vobs missing (i.e. ones named VTS_0x_1.vob etc) and I haven't had any problems yet because of that.

and if there is...I'd say buy a modern dvd player. I chucked my $300 sony dvd player I bought in 1997 cuz it couldn't play SVCDs. Only vcds but only on cd-rw. Went in the trash.

I hope, you have right :)

And if you're unsure, try a DVD±RW first. That way you can try things without spending a whole disc on something that might not work.

I've done all 3 of back to the future and didnt notice anything like that but I kept all titles
did you remove any titles using IC as IC completely deletes a VOB if you remove all the titles within a certain VOB set and this looks like you removed the featurette
this is the exact reason not to use IC to remove Titles as it sometimes cannot update the IFO's correctly. The best way is to create a dummy VOB and then update IFO's so it will work no problem
this solved the problem for DVD maniac and his Moonraker DVD
take a look at my guide on how to do this or if you need more help just ask
I'm sure Get VTS would probably be a quicker way to fix this problem and Nero will accept it then but if you burn this DVD and play it in a fussy standalone (like my Sony is!!)it may not play due to these missing 2 VOB's
p.s. hakko504 you will just have a more leniant SA just like my Dansai that plays anything regardless of missing VOB's but the Sony has some checking system and this was proved with my Band of Brothers DVD 6 backup
it had a menu vob of 0kb that had nothing to do with anything from inserting the DVD to getting to the main menu. After using IC it actually removed this VOB even though I had all titles checked! so I stuck it back in thinking it should be there and would create a problem for Sony by it being missing. My Sony didn't play it saying the disc was dirty! but my Dansai played it no problem so I burnt another DVD without the VOB and the Sony plays that so it's obvious it checks the DVD somehow before allowing playback. Is this some sort of illegal copy protection from Sony and other manufacturers as it will not play a DVD unless it is 100% fully compliant. It will play originals which will always be 100% compliant (except for the odd one!) but will not play poorly created backups with missing VOB's or incorrect IFO's like some people create when making backups. I doubt newer SA's make a difference as to whether they play these DVD's or not, it's more to do with whether the manufacturer includes the same DVD compliance checking before playing

I have had nero report this to me as an error on quit a few burns. At first, I did as you and wondered what happened and how could I be miising a file. I decided to close out Nero and used RecordNow and the burn went great and I have not had any problems on any set-top players or in WinDVD Platinum 4.0.

MisterX what model # sony do you have?
I remember when I bought mine I had to check for serial #'s and product codes on the box because the firmware with some of them didn't play all commercial dvds. So it was a huge issue. Point is if it's a pre 1999 dvd player then perhaps it's too old. If it's a relatively new one then I might start getting worried.
