Telecide & Deinterlace question...

I have two questions for the experts :)

1. I use IVTC with either of the two lines below. What I'd like to know
is if there's any chance that enabling (post=true) will impact(lessen)
the quality of my encodes ?

Telecide(post=false,guide=1)
Decimate(cycle=5)

Telecide(post=true,guide=1)
Decimate(cycle=5)


2. Same thing with deinterlace, will (full=true) be in anyway detrimental
to my encodes ?

FieldDeinterlace(full=false) or FieldDeinterlace(full=true)


I am in no way at all concerned about speed, only quality. The reason
I'm asking is just because I want my rips to be as good as possible
and for my peace of mind.

In telecide, post=true will blend-deinterlace frames that come interlaced even after the matching process. So it won't decrease quality. If you're not concerned about speed, better use it.

FieldDeinterlace is another thing.
If you have a purely interlaced source: true interlaced NTSC, true interlaced PAL, badly telecined NTSC (even if you apply IVTC on it), better use (full=true) and apply a sharpening filter after it.
Now if you have mixed content, for example 24 and 30fps mixed, you're better off with (full=false)

NB: If you have a badly telecined NTSC source and you apply IVTC on it, put post=false on the telecide command, and full=true in the fielddeinterlace command.
