OK.. if you're having problems with your rip speeds as was I... make sure you have DMA (UDMA) as the default transfer method as has been mentioned a million times before...
but ALSO..... I just found on one of my README.txt files that the DVD ROM(LITEon) installed - told me to add an argument to my CONFIG.SYS file.
The file told me to append "/DMA" to my device declaration.. so now, my line reads
DEVICE = C:\HXCD-ROM\CDROM.SYS /D:MSCD000 /DMA
I just rebooted and my rip speed jumped from 4.7 to 7.9 (10,000+ kb/sec).
Just ripped 4gigs (4 .vob files) with avg speed of 6.8x and max speed of 8.1x. total rip time = 7 mintues 59 secs. This kicked my old rates in the arse!
