i try to encode a movie that has 2 dvd's. i just selected all vob-files in dvd2avi, saved the project and encoded it based on this d2v-file to xvid with virtualdubmod. the ac3-tracks have a delay of 0, so i just joined them as described in the audio-faq.

the problem is that i get 25 black frames (one sec.) in my xvid at the point where the first dvd ends. these black frames aren't at the end of the first disc or at the start of the second disc if i look at the vob's with dvd2avi. but they are in the avs that's based on the d2v.

after that the audio is out of synch (sound comes earlier than the pictures). i already cut those frames out, but it's still out of synch.

is there a trick i need to know if i want to encode both dvd's to one xvid at once? or isn't it possible at all and i have to encode both dvd's seperately?

the synch-problem seems to be caused by the joining of the ac3-files. therefore this isn't an dvd2avi-problem. but i'd like to know why i've got these 25 black frames in my file.

When I've done this before, I've merely removed edited those frames out using AviSynth's trim command. The process has been described in detail before in the forum.
