Hi im trying to add borders in an anime avi encode that im doing. I want to add borders all around because if I dont the picture will get stretched in my dvd player and the subtitles will not show up that much. Meaning my tv is cropping the picuture when I dont want it to. I dont want to use the crop/clip feature in tmpeg because that justs puts black parts on my show. Right?

Strange, I always use the 'Clip Frame' feature on TMPGEnc and have never had that problem. I just clip the frame until all the black bars have gone on all four sides. Then in the same window click the 'arrange setting' and make sure that this is set to 'Full screen (keep aspect ratio)'. Then with a 'Mask color setting' of black.

If for some reason this doesn't work, under the 'arrange setting' play with the 'Center (custom size)' setting.
