View Full Version : Skipped intros, not won't auto play..

Hello...

I have the dvd Kate and Leopold all set how I want it. I've skipped the warnings, a couple of movie previews, and even disabled the buttons for the audio and subtitles that I removed with IFOEdit. Now that I burned the dvd, it won't play when I put it into my Xbox. Now don't think right away that its the common Xbox problem that I've seen everyone posting. I've used this same media on about 30 other dvds and they all play fine in my Xbox. This problem is different. What happens is that when you close the drive door, you can hear the drive seeking like its trying to find what to start playing. The screen is black at this time and it just sits there. If I hit the [Title] button on the remote, the title menu of the dvd comes up and everything works as expected from there on out. I can play the movie, the extras that I left on the dvd, everything. Its just when it goes to "autoplay" from the start after I put the dvd in.

One thing that I noticed is that the original DVD does -not- have an AUDIO_TS folder but the image that I made with ImgTool->Burn w/DVDDecrypter does. I also heard some talk about volume lengths being over 8 chars. Not sure if any of that would cause a problem like this. I've made sure that I followed the guides very closely, and even made sure that I went back and did Get VTS Sectors. Maybe I missed a small step somewhere or something. <shrug>

Would anyone have any idea where/what I should look at to resolve this problem?

Oh, one more thing.. What I did to bypass the intro video was to use that blank.m2v and vob file and remux it in IFOEdit. Or maybe I should just click the [Delete Playback] button in IFOEdit and leave the vobs alone?

Thanks for any information anyone might have on this..

you do not need to GET VTS sectors if you do everything properly

I have doubts in the way you have removed these VOB ID's and also the way you are creating the image

I can't really help you as I cannot see the DVD structure and unless you can email me pics of the IFO's (Like this (http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/GUIDE/Pics/sp2/6.png)) I can't suggest anything apart from making sure you remove only the relevant VOB ID's

if you are not sure just leave all the warnings intact when using IC and just delete playback after the processing. This will work but again make sure you only disable the relevant VOB ID's

IFO's don't take that much to mess up, so you must be caraeful and fully understand the consequences of your work

it's hard to grasp at first but you are learning and it time will be able to do this flawlessly

what does the intro video contain that you remuxed as this will be the blank screen you are getting and it's pausing on

the answer to your last post regarding Nero, is that you have obviously upset the DVD structure somehow. If this is still ok deoends on what you have modified

I sometimes get this error also as it says VOB's are missing (just had it with 6 B.O.B. DVD's) but as I know I have done everything correct I just choose to ignore it

and as usual <brag brag> I have no problems :D

waiting for your pics :)

but also include what each VOB ID contains and if you can also include the original IFO and then the resulting IFO's

bit of a clart on but it may just hold the answer to your problems

Ok, Instead of taking a bunch of screen shots, I just zipped up the files into two dirs "Originals" and "Modified" so you can compare the two. The Zip file is located HERE.

Let me know what stupid things I've done. heh :-P

I don't think I'm allowed to view these due to forum rules :(, that why I asked for pics

maybe a mod can confirm this?

Oh crap, ok. I'll take some screen shots. I just replaced the VIDEO_TS.* and VTS_03_*.* with the ones from the original and it plays fine in my Xbox. So now I know I've made a mistake somewhere in one of those two files. I'll take the screenshots now. Give me a couple mins. I'll also remove that zip so it can't be viewed and I'll edit that message when I'm done.

In the Video_TS_IFO what was contained in the VOB ID you removed?

In VTS 3 menu VOB, what did the 2 VOB ID's contain?

Video_TS.VOB, ID1=Blank Video, ID2=Intro Warnings
VTS_03_0.VOB, ID1, C1-C2=Miramax Logo

They play in this order:

Intro Warnings
Miramax Logo
Main menu

then the menu is next?
