i've done a couple of dozens of dvd rips to the ogm format, w/o problems so far.
now i'm having a problem with 'Training Day'

when i mux video (div3), audio (vorbis) and chapter information in OggMux 0.9.4.2, everything works fine

however, if i do the same, but add an srt subtitles file to it, i get strange results :

- wmp 6.4 plays the file, sound is audible, but the window where the movie is suppose to be is blank (black)
- wmp 6.4 reports the movie being 812x342 (in reality it's 608x256)

i usually use ffdshow to decode a movie, i tried the DivX Decoder Filter just as test, wmp 6.4 returns the error 8004022A
Emulating this in graphedit gives some more info about the error ;
"The graph could not change state. ReceiveConnection rejected the media type passed in."

i finally got the file to play in wmp 6.4 with ffdshow by disactivating all colorspaces, except YV12, and disactivating 'use overlay mixer' (well, kind of, wmp still reports the wrong size, 608x342, and adds 2 black borders)

i only have this problem with this movie, movies i encoded previously still playback fine

any ideas ?

config :
W2KSP3
DirectX9
latest oggds and subtitle filters (0.9.9.5 and 1.4.0.0 respectively)

any help is appreciated

Had the same problem with the BSPlayer. As soon as I add subs, the screen remains black.

Installing DirectVobSub from Gabest and using ZoomPlayer for OGM-Files helped me.

Seems like an error in the directshow subtitlefilters for Ogg.

I have had problems with the latest Subtitle Filters (1.4.0.0), but I searched version 1.3.0.0 and it displays subtitles well now. (Sorry, I don't remember where I found them)

bsplayer 0.86.494 fixes the subtitle bug!

yip, BSPlayer 0.86.494 works. Is tobias aware of this bug ?
or has development of the filters stalled ?

As far as anyone can see, there has not been any work on the OGG/OGM DS filters since Xiph 'acquired' Tobias. There also hasn't been any update from anyone concerning the OGM specs or how to put video into OGG.

Note that it is possible that Xiph is working feverishly on this, but we have no indication to that effect.
