View Full Version : MultiPGC and SubRip problem

I have a multiPGC DVD, and subtitles are in more than one PGC. SubRip does not have an option to extract only one particular PGC, so everything beyond the first one is essentially lost, since there is no way to import from the middle of the .sst file with negative time shift. Any thoughts how to overcome this?!

You could try using VobSub to create the .vob and .idx for each PGC and then open them up in Subrip.

If you have a multi pgc movie, you have ripped it by pgc I guess? If you use doitfast4u and have checked the vobsub it will rip the subtitles per pgc for you. If you don't use doitfast4u, you can open your vob that represents the pgc (since you ripped it by pgc) and extract the subtitles directly from this vob.

Thank you, guys, it all does make sense, but since I was used to SubRip, I was hoping there was a way to get stuff done without VobSub. I guess I'll have to learn another tool ;)
Ripping from only one VOB won't work, because PGCs cross the VOB boundary. Unless I split them first by VobID with VobEdit. But then IFO is no good anymore ;)

You do not need the ifo to rip the subtitles. You can just open the vob and rip the subtitles from it. (you only have to look in the ifo what number your subtitle stream has). So if you have split it it by vobid you can manually rip the subtitles with subrip without the use of an ifo.
