xvid? i need help

Hello little helpers,im new to this video tech phenominon but i do download movies and of which some are encoded with the xvid format, but all xvid encoded movies that i download are not working correctly. they flicker really bad which makes it unwatchable. i have installed various codecs but none seem to work.

Its really strange as when i flick from small to large screen in windows media player for a few seconds everything is okay when playing movies.

Please help me,
