Hello everybody, here's the problem: cce is not appearing at all!!
i double click on the cce icon on my desktop and i only see the program in the task bar, as it was minimized, but no matter how i try, i can not maximize it.. i hope you understand what's happening, kinda weird.. by the way, this is happening with versions post 2.66. i installed version 2.62 and it works just fine.
please help, thank you.

Have seen this with 2.64.01.10
Not sure how to fix it but I keep doing a combo of these things:
Right click on the shortcut you use to start CCE, change "Run" to "maximised" - this forces it to run maximised, but you wont have a white area to "add" a video file.
Run CCE 2.50 and open an .ecl or .avi etc
Open a valid .ecl file in 266 (I think you can still do this)
Do this in different combos - 266 first, then 2.50
or 2.50 first, then 266, then .ecl in 266
Anyway after fiddling around for a while, it starts again, you have a white area to right click on and "add"
At that point, you can reset the shortcut ot "normal window"
Not sure which of above (if any) makes the differnce, but it always works within 2-8 min of fiddling

press alt, then space, them M, then a directional arrow, then move the mouse, and iirc, you should have the window attached to the mouse.

the scientific answer is always refreshing, compared to my voodoo approach
Thanks, should save me some time next time this happens

hello and thank you for your answers.
by the way i didn't use any of your methods, but had good advice from both.. :)
jeffnoone's method seemed a little too complicated, as opposed to auenf's one, so i tried that first, but with no luck (it didn't work at all)! then i went back to jeffnoone's method and had an idea to make it simpler.
i first right clicked on the CCE shortcut and changed "Run" to "maximised", then instead of double-clicking the shortcut i used AutoCCE to load the program and.. bingo! everything worked!!
yeah, unluckily it just lasted for a couple of hours, then everything worked, i could actually load a file in the main window and encode it, but i couldn't see the list and i couldn't change any parameters..
anyway, i had to re-format and re-install windows and that solved also my cce problem..
thanks again and bye bye

Just delete the Key in the registry "Custom Technology" under Current Users and Local Machine. Works everytime. They are readded to the registry when you open up CCE again.

BTW the "auenf" method works very well for me
Haven't tried the registry method yet

its an old trick i have used for ages (in win3.x and win9x safemode) due to missing mouse drivers, and the fact that you CAN get around windows without a mouse.
