In case u dont know when capturing u get AVI file not mpeg. So I need the following : creating captures first and then converting to svcd using avi2svcd. Thats why i posted here.
Any ideas ?
Thanks!

Hello!
p.s. plz do not reply if you dont understand the question.
a.s. plz donīt ask if you donīt have the time to formulate your question properly.
Iīm also no expert at this but i think you can try the following:
-wouldnīt do fixed chapters the job?
-if you want to set the chapters yourself you can check 'donīt make images' to get only the mpgs and then author the scvd yourself for example with vcdeasy, like hoozdapimp has suggested.

Yo!
Does anyone know is it possible to create chapters from captured vhs movie and how ?
Thanks!
From this question how was I supposed to know what kind of format you captured it in? In case you didn't know, there are many different capturing programs out there that can capture in a variety of different formats. For example, my All-in-Wonder Radeon can capture in AVI, MPEG (VCD) or MPEG2 (SVCD).
p.s. plz do not reply if you dont understand the question.
Watch it. As WinXi said, you might want to give more info about your question before you post. Consider this a warning.

svcdprayer where to start?
Your first post never once mentioned that you were using DVD2SVCD to create an SVCD. It simply said "how do I create chapters from a VHS?"
So we are suppose to be mind readers and know exactly what you are doing? Where did you once mention SVCD or anything that even remotely points us to think what you are doing?
Then you insult the entire forum by saying.
p.s. plz do not reply if you dont understand the question.
Well my response is this.
I think know how to do what you want done, but I will not share this info until you apologize to the rest and Hoozdapimp of the forum for such remarks.
BTW your statement that when capturing you get an AVI is a bit misleading. In some cases you get an avi. In some cases you get an mpeg in even other cases you get other formats.
My advice to you is simple. Don't go getting hot headed. Realize your first question was extrememely vague and that your follow up remarks might be considered insulting. Show us the type of person you can be and apologize and let this pass and let everyone become friends again.

First of all i sent msg to this forum with vhs chapturing, its assumable (at least to me) that its related to dvd2svcd program in this case (avi2svcd). And i was really dissapointed when hoozdapimp answered this has nothing to do with the program, and the thread got closed(the previous one).Thats why i opened new thread and wrote p.s. dont answer, if u dont understand the question.
And by that meaning i definately didnt want to insult anyone. If anyone got me wrong i apologize.
To hoozdapimp: I capture on the maximum with pinnacle studio 8,(capturing on maximum) a movie gives me size like 20 gigs of space so and then i use canopus dv converter so dvd2svcd program can recognize the file, and encoder can encode
To Mark: Problem is already solved.Thanks.
Btw,note: i never insult anyone and ever wanted. Keep in mind that I respect the forum, and all the members and thats why forum is good for question and answer help each other.
Thanks!

I understand now, but I hope you understand that at the time of your first post there was no way for me to know what format you captured in. As it has been said before, AVI is only one of many formats that programs can capture in, hence the reason for my question. I closed your first thread both because it was very very vague and also from what I could tell, your problem had nothing to do with DVD2SVCD. Now that you have posted better information it is easy for me to see otherwise. Keep in mind that all of this could have been avoided if a proper post would have been made in the first place. You shouldn't assume things that aren't always the case (i.e. capturing in AVI).
With that being said I am of course willing to put this one in the past. No hard feelings of course :)

Cool in all respects. You got it solved and everyone appears to be on nice terms again.
We all have to be aware that the written word has no inflection or body language to convey the whole message. So often times a line can be misread and taken as insulting when it wasn't meant that way.
