Well, pinnacle has already put out an update for IC7, but DVD2One has yet to do anything. Even when you go to their forum to get information, requests by users for updates or planned upgrades are sometimes met with (in my opinion) a somewhat hostile and rude response from Rene, the forum moderator. With more and more competition coming, they need to keep on the ball. By the way, I really like DVD2one, but they need to continue to improve the product.

Actually they did have an update already.
They're working on another update...so just be patient.
complaining over and over again doesn't help, maybe that's why rene got upset.

yes why the impatience all the time - it gets annoying to constantly read people bitching about getting updates to dvd2one. After all nothing is broke in dvd2one - everything works as advertized - so nothing needs to be updated. They dont ow you anything, you allready have what you paid for (if you actually did) in the current version. The updates coming from the "competitors" are bugfixes - nothing more - they dont really add anything new to the software.

Perhaps if people would stop wasting their time with these idiotic constant requests in their forum that they expect them to answer - perhaps then they could get to work.

And please stop all the BS arguments about customercare and bla bla bla - this is 2 guys working night and day doing everything themselves to please you all - not a bigtime microsoftproject with thousands of employes.

Get real people

maybe the impatience is because of this:

Since this is the very first public release of DVD2one, it only has basic functionality. As a customer, you are entitled to free updates to future V1.x versions of DVD2one. Ideas for future V1.x versions:
Full disk copy. For those who want to keep those fancy menus and intros.
Split a movie over 2 disks. For those who are not willing to sacrifice any image quality.
Join 2 movies on 1 disk. Also very usefull for putting a flipper on 1 disk.
Subtitle processing tool. Change color, transparancy, location and maybe even size of the subtitles.
--

not a good idea to put this on their homepage, now people not only awaiting these features, there think they already paid for these things and get upset because its not ready.

I know - but it says ideas - nothing about spitting out new wonderfull features every other week. If people think they have allready paid for these things and that its possible to develop good working software in a matter of hours - then thats their problem.
Lets face it they made something noone else had done before - a small revolution - now you could get that backup in no time in the most simple way ever. And it worked right out of the box. Lets atleast give them credit for that and for the fact that they dont want to release new versions before they are really ready and working as intended - how often do you actually see any softwarevendor take that consideration in their customers ? not often - usually its all just an endless bunch of bugfixes because they had to sell it before it was ready. How often have you not had software that NEVER got working as it should no matter how many bugfixes were released. DVD2ONE works ! plain and simple. DVD2ONE was the first software ever that let me create 6 backups in a matter of hours one evening. I like simplicity - I like things that work - I like things that work fast. I like dvd2one :)

DVC2, in all fairness I think your response to my question was a little extreme. I am not bitching and I am not whining. I am entiled to my opinion. No need to flame me cause I expressed something that others wonder too. I certainly do not expect daily news. I have advidly supported this product ever since it came out. AND YES, I did the full price for it...unlike alot of hackers might do. My main point is there is there has not been real news lately. I know I might take a beating on this, but communicating a rough timeline would not hurt-IMHO :)

I absolutely did not mean to flame you - I assure you my arguments was ment generally speaking - and not pointed at you at all.
My appologies if they look that way :)

LOL :D

I got Windows on the basis it added more features/fixed bugs with future upgrades

still waiting

what happens if DVD2One bring out a new version V2.x, will people still be entitled to upgrades?, cos the x states V1 will get free upgrades, but they can't go on forever

DVD95Copy does one of the things DVD2One promises, all be it a fraction slower but with much better main title quality from what I've seen of posted pics and a few trial tests of my own

the high compression of menus/extras is not that bad considering the size of the files

I'm sure the DVD2One guys are working as hard and as much as they can to implement more features cos there a lot of future customers out there wanting a tool that does the job easily and quickly aswell as current customers

If people want 1:1 backups I can understand them buying IC & DVD95Copy as of this moment but as for DVD2One that will mostly appeal to the movie only guys. The people who will be a bit peeved are the people who bought DVD2One before IC and DVD95Copy came about and are now left behind or facing the option of having to buy another tool to get 1:1 backups

From the creator of Remote Selector comes a brand new product, the ultimate DVD processing tool. With this tool you can make movie-only copies for personal use on a single DVD-Recordable in a matter of 15-30 minutes time (depending on the speed of your computer).

as mentioned in previous posts, does what it says on the label

Well whoever said that you couldn't do 1:1 with dvd2one?? With a little extra work and a few other tools ifoedit & ifoupdate, and it's still a faster process then IC7 as long as you know what your doing. The extras can be compressed as well as the main movie using dvd2one.

I don't know who said it wasn't possible but I reckon that over 90% of people who own DVD2One would not be able to do Multiple PGC's like Star Wars AOTC, Monsters Inc cos I sure as hell couldn't do it within the 15 mins or so setting up work that IC needs to do the job

I may be able to do it after a few hours and even then I would struggle and I'm quite knowledgable about DVD's and their structures probably as you are but everyone isn't at that level

this is why IC beats it hands down for 'true 1:1' backups :D

processing time is irrelevant really unless you do more than say 2 backups a day, which is 60 a month!, it's the time spent at the PC that concerns me. You can process one while you goto work and one while you goto sleep so that's 2 a day
