After you installed the update, did your registry have this value:
DVDRemoveLayerBreak and is it set to True?

can I ask what taking the layer break out does?
is it to stop the 'slight pause' that Dual Layer DVD's warn you about on the covers?

so does it still pause?
I've never noticed, I thought the pause was either the laser refocusing or going back from the outer to the inner of the disc
but as it's not doing this, then why should it still pause?, surely it just continues as normal as it's just playing through the disc and not refocusing or adjusting position, so read buffer should still be full, or do DVD's not have buffers and I'm talking pap!
I've never noticed but it would be nice to find out if it still does pause or not

took instant copy off did a clean reinstall of instant copy and then the update, then did the same disc again and yep it's still there.
This still gives a slight pause like a real DVD9

The reason you still see layer breaks on a trancoded DVD5 is that the IFO file for the movie still has a layer break command in it. This command causes the laser head to seek for the next video block on the "second layer." Even though there is no second layer on a DVD5, the DVD player will still do a seek because it is just obeying the instructions given to it by the IFO file. This seek process causes the slight pause we see on most DVD players.
To remove the layer break, the IFO file needs to be edited and corrected during the transcoding process, or done manually using IFOEdit.
From the change log for IC 7.0.1.114, we get the impression that Pinnacle has implemented a fix for the layer break issue in this release.
I have only done one backup since installing the new version of IC and have not yet had a chance to watch it...
Can anyone confirm that their "fix" does or does not work?
