Titles w/o preview in IC? What are they?

I've noticed that some dvds there are these titles that don't have any preview tab, you can't change the size, you can't change anything other than checking/unchecking the box for it (In Instant Copy). Some are a few seconds, some are less than 1 second. At first I thought it was the warnings and stuff but after I excluded them the warnings were still there. Any clue as to what these mystery titles are and do I need to keep them on the dvd for compatibility or anything?

I don't know exactly, but I believe that those files are not compressable because IC has made a decision that they are just too small to save any space.

As to what they are. Things like the screen after the credits that shows the name of the company that did the encoding and the mpaa rating screen.

first, let me say I recommend you don't delete titles with IC

secondly, definetly don't use IC to delete the small titles as some contain vital info to maintain DVD structure

If you want rid of warnings use Ifoedit to strip them as it does the job properly or just use the delete playback AFTER processing with IC

Hi MisterX..

I tried to follow all he guides on how to use IfoEdit but man they're hard as hell. Most are not exactly for what I'm trying to do so there are things missing that I need. The DVD that I'm struggling with is Kate & Leopold. I'd like to keep the directors cut version along with all the extra goodies for my wife. If anyone has a good guide for this I would love to see it. I'd also like to keep it to one dvd as well.

what is it you want to know and I will tell you how to strip it

it's just I ain't had time to put up all methods to remove the stuff but there is enough there along with mrbass's guide to get you going (just a couple of ifoedit guides missing)

you sure about guides being hard :confused:, ok they look confusing but they should walk you through and once you have done it a few times it gets a lot easier

if you think they are hard, then you'd be better off leaving them as I cannot make the guides any easier without making them pages and pages long :), or just ask here in the ifoedit forum

I think you misunderstood me. Sorry about that. I've been trying to rip the Directors Cut off Kate & Leopold for a while now. The two movies on the dvd are mixed in the same vobs and if you play them straight with PowerDVD they flip back and forth between the two movies. Its like they're interlaced together or something. You can see this effect in the ifo file.

I' like to keep the whole dvd the same except for only having the Dir's Cut and remove the menu which asks for which version you want to see. I'd like to leave all the extras on the dvd as well. The guides that I've seen and read are really good - thanks again. I just haven't seen a guide that deals with a dvd that is laid out in this fashion. I have done Ice Age for example and it was pretty easy since the two movies are in different vobs. If I can get any information to/for you regarding this dvd so you could give me some tips, I sure would appreciate it. I'm sure theres others around here that would love it as well. I've seen a number of people struggle quite a bit with this one.

is it a multi angle DVD?

there is a remove angle in Ifoedit but I'm not sure how you use it and there are other methods too I think

I guess you just choose which angle you want to keep, a bit like VOB ID's

I wouldn't really know unless I could look at the files but I ain't got that DVD

you will see if you open the VTS_01_0.IFO if it has more than one angle or not

I think my Planet of the Apes was the same with Iivu points and 2 angles

click VOB EXTRAS in VTS_01_0.IFO and the option to remove Angles will be there

seek more info tho cos I ain't used it so I don't know what results it produces

I Copied shrek with ic7 and removed all the titles that were greyed out and i couldnt preview, i aslo done it with them intact and nothing deleted, i founf that when i removed all the titles that i couldnt preview the dvd worked fine and so did all the extras. al that was missing was the copyright and fbi warning in the beginning the ones that you cant skip.
so just wondering does anyone else remove the titles that u r not allowed to preview or is it just me?
