Hi everyone!
I've created a tool inspired from Gknot, but for newbies, as I call it DFN - Divx For Newbies :)
You can see detailed informations here: http://membres.lycos.fr/patrickleblanc/
It basicly starts from a D2V project and encodes the movie in 2 pass, B-frame and GMC enabled. It appends credits, mix and delay audio if necessary.
Why for newbies? Well because you have almost nothing to configure. That's why it's not intended for pros, like most of you ;).
The basic idea behind that is to clik on "Load D2V" and then "Save Avi" without further more interaction...
It automaticly adjust the output resolution, bitrate etc. (more detail on the web site)
It *should* produce an acceptable final result, at least for my standard :).
Why I did this? because almost all my friends want to backup their DVD's but think it's too hard, too complicated etc. With this tool, you can't make it more simple.
And for me as well, as i'm a big lazy boy :D
It's made with VB and 2 activex controls that are included in the package.
If you can test it and leave me your comments/suggestions/insults (well not too many if possible :D) it would be really appreciated!!!
I couldn't test it on PAL dvd's so if anyone can, it would be great!
Thank you all,
Pat

-Now comes with an installer and 2 versions, one including all required softwares and the other one with just BeSweet and VirtualDubMod.
-3 found bugs, will be fix on next release.
