I am trying to backup Beauty and the Beast Disney. At the testing phase it gets to "testing video quality phase 2/5" then she craps out on me and just sits there frozen. I am using the latest demo copy, have ripped the source to my hardrive and have followed MrBass's guide. Not sure what else to check. Thanks in advance

jvalla,
If the feezing you're experiencing is a "black screen" freeze, you should read my post in this thread:

Has anyone else found this to be true?

Cool. Where do I put that?

I assume you know how to edit your registry... If not, please don't try this!
Anyway, using regedit, go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VOB\CD Wizard\7.0\Copy
and set the DVDHideConversionPicture key to True.
Close regedit and you're done!

OK, I have done that and can still see the preview during the testing phase (where it craps out).
I had to manually add the key in the registry.

jvalla,
Are you using IC version 7.0.1.114? This only works on this new version as far as I know...

7.0.0.91
When I try to update I get an error that says it can't find a full copy of Instantcopy installed (although mine is a full copy) ;)

Maybe you should try to uninstall .91, then using regedit, remove all the VOB keys in your registry (just the ones that actually belong to IC, not every key that has the string "vob" in it!) and then re-install .91 from your CD, entering your serial number. Reboot. Install the .1.114 update. Reboot.
As I said above, I'm pretty sure the DVDHideConversionPicture change only works with .1.114...

I appreciate the help. Unfortunately I can not install the update. I have removed the software, removed all registry keys pertaining to the software (VOB keys). I rebooted and reinstalled .91 version. Rebooted again then tried update. Still says it can't find a copy of Instantcopy on my computer. Weirdness!!
Anywho, if anyone has any feedback at all regarding this freezing issue during test phase OR this upgrade issue I would be very appreciative.
Thanks.

Sorry to hear you can't install the update... That stinks! I would write Pinnacle support (but would not hold my breath as I'm not fond of turning blue  ) for help...
Anyway, do you also use an ATI video card? If so, try updating to the latest drivers released yesterday, Catalyst 3.2. That might help.

Welp, after all the B.S. I updated my video drivers and that fixed my freezing problem during the test phase. Thanks for the advice.

No problem! Glad it helped.
BTW, do you use an ATI video card? If so, which?

ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 64 meg

It's looking like a lot of people who are having trouble with the "black screen" freeze are using ATI cards/drivers...
Sounds like updating to Catalyst 3.2 is a good idea. Or turning off the video preview if you have IC 7.0.1.114...
Cheers!
