need help reading a french guide

just out of curiosity i wanted to try bsplayers chapter funktion. unfortunately i could only find a french guide on the subject and my french knownledge though present is not sufficient to use the guide. the whole process is even more complicated as all images seem to be broken :-(

anyway here's the link... a short summary on the basic steps will be great, the rest i'll hope to find out myself...

It says something like:

- download the 3 programs mentioned
- 1st step: open Chapters-X-Tractor and open your .IFO file. Then, in the Format part, choose "BSPlayer" (in the presets part on the bottom left). This is what you get (image)
- There you find the description of your future file. The first number refers to the chapter number, then you see the timecode where it's sent. Finally the chapters' titles.
- You can change the titles with their real names. If you simply want to keep "Chapter xx" by default, click ont he right. This will save the changes for future use.
- 2nd step: Once you've improved your chapter file, you only need to save it. Select all information for your future file and copy it (CTRL+C). Then open Notepad and past your selection.
- You have to copy it in Notepad to save in the desired format. You tehrefore need to have something like: (image)
- Now do a "Save as". Select "All files" in the type and give your file a name with extension .chf (image)
- You can stop afgter these 2 steps, but if you want to improve your file by immediately visualising the chapters, go to the next step.
- Note: if you want the chapter file to be immediately loaded in BSPlayer, it has to have the same name as the AVI file and be in the same directory.
- (repeat of step 1 and 2)
- step 3: In this step we'll use your previous file to capture images under BSPlayer. Before that you need to check something: Rihgt click on the interface to go to Options -> Preferences -> Video. There check "Use RGB Overlay" and then one of the RGB. If this is greyed out, use "Force mode RGB"
- If you have an unpside down image, install the ffdshow filter and chack "Flip Video"
- Now you can capture images. These will allow us to immediately select the chapter and visualise it.
- For that, load your film in BSPlayer and go in the "Chapter" menu.

- Like this you can go from one chapter to another by clicking on them. For your capture, select your first chapter, pause your movie (clicking directly on the screen), then fo in the "Capture image" menu and click on "what you want" (?)
- BSPlayer has registered the corresponding image at the frame you selected. for info this image is stored in the directory where bsplay.exe resided, under bscap0
- Repeat as many times as you have chapters.
- 4th step: now let's resize te image. Not obligatory, but if you want to see your chapters in one shot you'd want to do this.
- open your first image with any image editor. I use PrintKey2000.
- For a good tradeoff I recommend to resize to 176x95.
- Don't change the image format (JPEG).
- 5th step: Now we'll use ChapMaker_fr. Small but very important. (image)
- click on this button (image not visible). You need to have this window (image)
- clkick on this button (image invisble) and insert your first resized image. You get something like this: (image)
- Do the same for all your images in the order of the chapters. To finsh you only need to clikc on (image invisible) and save the file under the same bname as your movie.
- For the final result, relaunch your Divx reader and your film, then do a CTRL+V... and as if by magic: (image)
- You can now seelct your chapters with a little click.

To note I don't know this stuff - just did a rough rush translation. I also didn't see any of the images in my browser. Let me know if you need a translation of a specific part.

[edit]: does anybody know how to automatically split a chapter file for a 2 cd rip or do i have to do this manually ??
