DivX`s encoded on a DVD media

Sorry if I missed this topic, but I couldn`t find it
here.
So, is it possible to
encode, let`s say, five divx`s on a dvd media
for archiving purpose
or they have to be in MPEG2 format?
Same question goes for mp3.
BTW, I still don`t have a dvd burner, so I can`t try. :)

You can put 5 divx files (if all equal under 4.3gb) on to 1 DVD in a data way, BUT, you can't view them in a consumer DVD player unless you have a Divx DVD player (and as far as I know only the KISS DVD Player can do this). But you can put them on the disc to view on your computer.
