I have downloaded an dvd xvid-vite file,when I try to use TMPEGenc to process it to mpeg nothing happens. In fact tmpg locks up I have to ctrl-alt del to close it.
Am I using the wrong program or am I missing something obvious any help or pointers appreciated.

check if you have the latest release installed... you might also want to try one of the frequent beta releases that afaik support bframes a feature the normal xvid decoder can'T decode (not sure about this though since i'm not really using xvid=

DL a SVCD version if you're unable to convert it for yourself :p

I don't convert to vcd/svcd, so I can't help you. Usually they don't use any advanced features like b-frames. Install a recent xvid version an try again. Or search the forums, maybe you can find some hlp converting xvid to mpg1/2
