I don't realy understand the "discontinuous"-bit.

I analyzed a couple of DVDs but I could'n get a uniform picture from it.
On most DVDs the flag is set if CellID(VobID) is different from the on of the previous pointer.
On some DVDs the TimeCode of the previous pointer was different.

Now I set the flag if the CellID(VobID) is different from the last
Pointer.

The discontinous flag should be set if the SCR (not PTS or DTS) is not in step with the previous.
One way to check is to look at the difference between the last VOBU of the previous cell and the first VOBU of the next cell. This must be positive (the next cell SCR > last cell SCR) and close to the difference between the last 2 VOBU of the previous cell to be considered continuous.
You can also cross check the PGC since the cell playback information table also has a discontinous flag, however some people muck with this flag in a bizarre attempt to remove "layer breaks". The time map and cell playback information table should agree on this bit in the end.

Never heard of this program till I read doom9 news...freakin awesome program. I used 0.11.1b and it took me only 5 mins to backup Bug's Life. I only wanted wide screen version. Double clicked on PGC4 and voila had my VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS in the directory I selected. I had no idea it was so simple. Funny thing is so many people don't realize that many times this is all dvd2one is doing (no transcoding required). I doubt I'll use the split option..rather IC7. But I'll definitely use this on each dvd and see if I can't get it within 4.37GB by stripping.

Out of interest I thought I would take a look at DVDToolbox - pleasantly surprising in its ease of use.

I would like to try the split function to split a DVD across 2 discs and keep everything. As a basis I am going to use the many guides to using ifoedit to do this - anyone tried using DVDTolbox instead of ifoedit but keeping the methodology the same ? (ie rip, split main movie to 2 disks, copy extras and ifos to whicever disk).

As an aside, whenever I do this sort of thing I can never predict what ifo's are going to be going to be createdor edited. Sometimes its new vts_0x_0.ifo's, other times its both new vts_0x_0.ifo and the video_ts.ifos, sometimes its the original ones edited and saved in the original locations. I get really confused as to which ones are the right ones to be in the destination folders ready for burning.

Further to last post, just tried a split PGC with DVDToolbox. There are completely brand-new video_ta.ifo and vts_0x_0.ifo files in the new directories. I originally assumed these would be based on the original ifo's but with some twekas to represent the split, however this appears not to be the case.

I want to be able to now move the other extras across from the original rip, into these new directories, so I would have 2 x DVDs.

The extras vobs and ifo's are unchanged, so I would just move these to whichever DISK1 or DISK2 had enough space (as well as copy titles/vobsets that were actualoly required for Navigation purposes)

Is there anyway I can merge the information form these new ifo's back into the original ifo's, then use these ammended originals in the dvdToolbox created disk directories for Disk1 and Disk2 ?

Doh! Just found IFOUPDATE v0.69 that appears it may do what I need.

But..and a big but...there is no HELP in it, and the guides I can find are only rudimentary.

Anyone know what all the menu options are, and when they should be used ?

At present, I am using Standard Mode, with only Autocorrect VTS (same as ifoupdate correct vts ?), and autoanalyse. I have no idea if I should copy vts_c_adr or keep/discard vts_tmapti ? or what "Adjusted Cell Mode vs Cell Mode only vs Standard" actually do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - I look forward to it. However I am still looking for some answers re IFOUPDATE and the differnet options ? I've tried using them but can't quite spot the differneces between say CElL and STANDARD modes (I think adjusted cell mode is where you have used stream stripping and have the same number of chapters but now different sector endpoints ?)
