Just a quick observation, sorry if this is already widely known, but this is the first time I've noticed it. I was working on the Matrix audio and I usually like to decrease the bitrate on the director's comentary to save space on my DVD. I keep everything in AC3 format. So I usually like to bring the bitrate down to about 80 (origianlly 192 I think). I noticed that whenever I rip the ac3 with anything but Smartripper, AC3Machine has "yack! error" problems. In other words, when the ac3 stream came from either dvdecrypter or dvd2avi, AC3Machine would choke when trying to encode below 112 i.e. at bitrates lower than 112 the tool would produce errors Unless the imput stream comes from Smartripper. Now that I've said that three times, and for curiosity's sake, does anyone know why that is? I figure it has something to do with the embedded time code?
