CCE basic - MyDVD doesn't recognise mpg

Hi,
Just bought CCE Basic. Created an mpeg2 and ticked the DVD Compliant checkbox. Can't seem to get my authoring s/w to recognise the file. Sonic MyDVD says it may be an mpeg but can't recognise whether it is ntsc or pal. Ulead DVD Workshop SE just tries to re-encode it, so it obviously doesn't recognise it properly. I just kept all of the default parameters in CCE. Any ideas?

I don't have Basic yet, so my experience is only with SP, but I presume that Custom Technology didn't remove the GOP settings dialogue, in which case, can you tell me what GOP settings you are using?

Also, what bitrate are you encoding at?
