can you stop and start the encoding without restarting from the beginning?

As everyone knows, TMPG takes ages to encode at higher qualities. With my ancient 500Mhz celeron, it takes a little over 45hrs to encode a full dvd at high quaulity.
So does anyone know if you save where your up to with the encode and come back and restart it from where it left off?

I've played around with it but i don't know how to work it.
Any help would be appreciated.

since i only uses tmpgenc to encode on special occasions, i wouldn't know, but i don't think that's is possible on any encoder speciality tmpgenc.

i also have a celeron 500, go with normal quality, it better than not being able to uses your computer or buying a newer one. 100min movie takes about 11 1/2 hours without filters.

Of curse you can!...
when start again your work you just go to Stings -> Advanced -> Sourge Range and cut the parte you already have, because when you stop
your work for the first time, the TMPG makes a file named whatever you as call it.
See the file and sart encoding from there on.
Then you can Merge and Cut in the TPPGenc Tools.
Do I have make my self clear?

oh that way, i though they actually wanted to pickup from where they stop encoding and re-start later; so they will have 1 big file, instead of many little files, now you might just have to worry about your video going out of synch when you merge your files together (might), like some of the other members.

oh, i guess i didn't understand exactly what Uncle Joe was saying. I thought that by doing the stop/start thing he was talking about, i'd still end up with one big file which is what i wanted. In that case i guess i won't worry about it. The reason i originally asked was that somtimes TMPG made my computer freeze. It would appear that it was still running but i turned on the screen and waited, gives no reaction.(Although that may just be my computer freezing by itself!)

Someone please answer, i'm really curious even though i can't use CCE.

uncle joe forgot to mention about the mark in\ mark out, you mark in where you want to start and out where you want it to stop.

not sure about the logo.
