View Full Version : first time use, no problems, concerned

First I think this program is fantastic, for I know nothing and I just ripped and converted 2 files.

Secondly, I want to thank Mark for his help and suggestions.

Lastly, my only concern is that I got no warning about a Mux rate because I changed my MPEG1 bitrate to 2,500. I don't know what Mux means or does. Should I be concerned? The words and mouth are in sync. I saved the report if anybody wants to view it.

Thanks again.

Please try to be more specific with your title. What are you concerened about? I don't know based on your title.

Yes you should be concered. You need to get rid of those errors. One or two are not really a concern, but when you have a bunch it starts to increase the file size and can cause jerky video and other problems.
See this thread for how to work in bbmpeg to fix it.

Mark, I am sorry if I don't understand what you mean about errors, I didn't see any. Of course, I'm not a youngin' anymore so it is hard for me to pick up on these complex programs. I converted two files and they are not jerky and seem insync. This is my log for the last conversion.

Should I mess the with Mux? Should I just stay with the fixed suggestions? I have no intentions to play this file on any type of hardware, just the computer. I cannot play mpeg2's because of a window problem with my program and playing over a second monitor (TV). I just need the nicest quality output to a TV possible.

Sorry I misread your post. I thought you said I got errors and not I did not get errors.
I missed the word "no" in your post.

I would suggest, if you haven't done it already. watching the muxing process in BBMpeg. DVD2SVCD will not give you an error if the mux completes, but with errors.

Start recover, select muxing and cutting, hit continue and then maximize( or restore whatever brings the program up on the screen) bbmpeg and watch that for errors.
