I am trying to convert a avi file of a TV show that I have. I load everything up and let it run. When it comes time for BeSweet to do the audio conversion it makes a file but there is nothing in the file and it is 0 k. Then the video conversion goes thorough with no problem. When it comes time for bbMPEG to mux it stops with an error when it scans the audio file because its 0 k and doesnt contain any data. I then used the gui for BeSweet and made my own mp2 file from the wav file. When bbMPEG trys to mux (with the mp2 file that I made) it gives me an error about a point not being there. I have tested the wav file that was extracted and that has sound and plays correctly. I also tested the mp2 file that I made and that also has sound and plays correctly. Any ideas??

I think you said it, but the extracted audio file has audio in it?

Have you tried running it through Vdub? Basically demuxing and remuxing in Vdub to make sure the audio is compatable.

If you did try this the you might want to post the Besweet log file as well.

Hi Mark

Yes the extracted audio file has audio and it plays correctly. Well I ran the avi file through vdub, demuxed and remuxed. Tried to start the process over with the new .avi file and the same thing happened.
Here is the log file for BeSweet:

BeSweet v1.5b15 by DSPguru.

Using Shibatch.dll v0.24 by Naoki Shibata & DSPguru (shibatch.sourceforge.net).

Not much in there. :(

When I make my own mp2 file using the gui for BeSweet and bbMPEG tries to scan the file it gives me this error:
Error in MPEG stream at offset (bits) 13: supposed marker bit not found

I am not to sure what that means but hopefully you guys can help me out.

Thanks
Jason

Hi-

I bet it has something to do with it being 22.1KHz. Maybe convert to 44.1KHz WAV and then convert that to 44.1KHz MP2.

Hi manono

I did what you said and I changed the KHz to 44.1. When I did that the resulting wav file was playing way too fast. I would assume thats because I changed the KHz to about double what it was. So I am assuming that the resulting file is going to play twice as fast. I then took the new 44.1 wav file into Cool Edit and tried to stretch it out so that it would sound correctly. Unfortunatly when I did that it didnt sound right and there was a lot of pops and scratches in it.

Do you have any other ideas that I can try to get this audio to work correctly?

Just to let you know the original problem that I had is because the audio is 22.1 Khz. If I take a wav file that has been coverted to 44.1 and make a mp2 file and then mux that in bbMPEG works correctly as far as the muxing is concerned (of course the audio is still too short by half of what its supposed to be)

Hi Jason28-

No, I'm sorry. :( Fresh out of ideas. Sounds like a challenge for DSPguru or one of the other audio experts in the Audio Forum.
