IFOEdit and 4 Episode DVD's - Please, I have few hairs left to pull

Any assistance GREAATLY appreciated...

I am backing up Star Trek DS9 four episode DVD's (No Menu's) Using Smart ripper to rip the 4 titles into 4 separate Folders. I use VOBedit to combine episodes 1 & 2, Then I Fire up IFOEdit, Create IFOs, Then I do GET VTS Sectors, and Burn my first dvd with episodes 1 & 2 PERFECTLY! No problems fast forwarding, and the disc plays on the set top - No Prob!

When I repeat the procedure for my second disc - episodes 3 & 4, Things go wrong in one big hurry. I can't fast forward the finished product on the hard drive using PowerDVD (it stops playback), and after I burn a disc it wont play at all on the set top.

As far as I can tell there is no difference at all between 1&2 and 3&4. I can call up episodes 3&4 using 'Open Media Files' with PowerDVD, and they play fine. It's only after Creating the IFO's etc... with IFOEdit that I have the problem. I've tried different versions of IFOEdit, same thing. Needless to say, I am Super-Frustrated.

I can't seem to find an answer to this. Please, If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful. Thank you VERY much!!!!

I do this for Star Trek TNG

Rip in file mode using DVD decrypter, all 18 files to a folder.

Using IFOedit.95 split to 2 DVD R's. Do not use the default split IFOedit picks, highlight the line right AFTER PGC_3.

Split into 2 different folders.

Copy VTS_01_IFO, BUP, And VOBS from original folder to split folders (on these the main movies are on VTS_02) which is the one you split.

Open IFOedit and Get VTS Sectors

Open ImgTool or any program you want and create an image file and burn.

Now I have a question for you. I downloaded Smart Ripper. The file is SR241.rar, how do I open this thing?

I followed the guides and as I said, the first 2 are perfect.
This SHOULD WORK! Grrrr!

When you join part 3 and 4, do you let adjust VobEdit the Vob-IDs so they begin with VobID 1 ??

and when the dialog box asks for first VOB-ID: I do put 1.

I wouldn't know what else to put there...

Well if the FF and rewind and pause does not work, some pointers are messed up in the VOB files.

To fix that prob, I have a trick for you!
After joining your VOB files, and creating IFO files for it with Ifo edit, let it run again trough IfoEdit, and peform a stream stripping.

Even if you select to keep all streams, it will do the trick, cause it corrects all pointers in the VOB files.

I tried that twice - either I'm doing it wrong, or somethings afoul.

I Joined the vobs, starting with 1, saved to separate folder called VIDEO_TS. Let finish, and close.


Then I Start up IFOEdit. I do a Create IFO. I Choose the 1st one in the new folder. Destination Dir is same. Options are set as Create 1 PGC Only, and create chapter for each cell. OK. Let process.

Then I open the new video_ts.ifo. Click yes to everything.
Click Get VTS Sectors. Click Yes.

Then I do VOB xtras. Strip Streams. Set destination Dir the same.
Options are: Strip Streams, Correct vob unit Pointers in vob files, and correct original IFO Files. VOB Expert Options are: remove PUOps, Remove Macrovision, Adjust VOB Unit Pointers, and Adjust Audio/Subp Point.
Then Click OK and Strip it. Audio 1 and Subpicture are checked by default. Also Correct IFO Tables is checked by default also.

click Strip It. Let Process.

Try to play and get this:
Error 8120016
This DVD title's file format is invalid.

I'm ready to give up...
