View Full Version : Tool for getting size (bytes) of video/audio streams from IFO?

Hi,

I have searched high and low but I can't seem to find a (simple) utility that does the following: given an IFO for a VTS, display the size (in K/M/Bytes) of the video/audio/subtitle streams contained in the associated VOBs. Let me select individual streams and tell me whether it will still fit on a DVD-R (so I know whether I need to re-encode or just demux/reauthor).

Anyone know a tool like this?

Thanks!

It can't be done from the ifo, you must scan the vob files. Even so, I'm not aware of a program that breaks down the allocation by streams.

Thanks for your reply. Of course I presumed that the VOBs are there as well. I found that DVD2DVD-R (http://www.dvd2dvd-r.de) does what I want but I'd still like a small, standalone utility. I'll keep looking around.
