View Full Version : Opening Instant Copy while burning causes failed write?

If I'm burning a DvD and happen to open up Instant Copy, the DVD stops writing and that's it. Anyone have this problem or know a solution? I'm usually burning an ISO in DVD Decrypter, then open Instant Copy (latest version).

I've ruined about 4-5 discs because of this (mostly because I forget).

Any help is appreciated!

Sorry, this is the message I get from DVD Decrypter:

Retry doesn't work here. The burn is dead.

Yes, this happens to me as well. Make sure you already have IC open before beginning your burn. I have a Toshiba SD-R5002 and it will always fail, whether burning with Nero or DVD Decryptor, if IC is opened during, but never fails, if IC is opened before. BTW, I have never experienced a problem with open an number of copies of DVD2One either before or during burning. Now that I got this down, I simulataneously rip a dvd with DVD Decryptor, encode with IC and/or (mutiple) DVD2One, and burn with Nero or DVD Decryptor.

Opening any application while burning is a bad idea, but especially applications related to the equipment. What's most likely happening is a scan of the ASPI layer is interrupting the burn. Since DVD2One does not deal with burners or readers it does not perform a scan. Also, other burning programs such as RecordNow Max prevent other apps from scanning during a burn.
