I confess I don't follow this CCE forum, but this weekend I did found a significant difference between CCE an MC encoder.
Obviously MC encoded best, or else this question didn't arise in first place. I always used CCE to critical project, as it's known to be "the best".
My project, made in Vegas 4.0, used pixalization (sp?) effect. The effect that gets larger and larger squares filling the image (you know, that very old transition from camcorders).
I did note that MC, using VBR, produces (much) better quality than CCE 2.5 (standard configuration, VBR 3-pass, same bitrate), where square have noticeble artifacts
Question: what are the settings you are using to get better results from CCE?
Source - DV footage
ps- MC did produce a smaller file also (!), meaning a real lower bitrate. And yes, same audio configuration (224 Kbps)...
