Strange sub title problem with spider-man

After I strip all audio streams except english and all subtitles except spanish the spanish subtitles show for about 10 seconds at the beginning of chapter 17. This is with subtitles off. Does anyone have any idea why? Or how I can fix this? I have stripped the stream from the vob two different times and each time gives me the same strange results.

I have a similar problem.
I have backed up Band of brothers R2 and removed all subtitles except swedish, in some way in my friends standalone dvd-player he can show english subtitles when he sets swedish in the language menu.
But when he turns them on and off with remote it switch back to swedish. The player reports that it only excists one subtitle.

In my own standalone all works fine only showing swedish subtitles.

How is this possible I have removed the subtitles in IFOEdit but does excist in some way. :confused:

Spiderman has an interactive subtitle stream for the "kids". When you stripped out the other sub streams, the spanish sub stream now became stream ID 20 which must be disabled in the special features menu, where you must turn on or off the interactive spider thing. Its to late now, you probably burned it on permanently.

Next time you come across a DVD like these, e.g. "spiderman. stuart little 2, men in black 2" make sure you set this feature off and play through or fast forward through the entire DVD with it set to off, then rip it and strip it.:)
