I'm looking for some suggestions for a problem I'm having trying to backup Insomnia. The problem is that I can play the DVD in my PC but when I try it in my stand-alone player, I get a "Disc Error".
I have ripped the entire DVD to my harddrive using DVDDecryptor. Then used IfoEdit to create a movie-only set of VOB's. Then followed the standard guide for re-encoding using TMPGEnc to create the video m2v and DVD2AVI to extract the audio ac3. I author the new DVD in IfoEdit and push the Get VTS Sectors button. The result is a DVD that plays fine in my PC but not at all in the stand-alone player.
I have succcessfully backed up Lord of the Rings Fellowship DVD using this method and it works wonderfully.
Has anyone else tried this method on Insomnia?
Is there some diagnostic method I could use on the new DVD to find out the problem?
Thanks to Doom9 and all the developers that devote their time to programming and supporting great DVD tools.
