Does this suggest its 2 channel sound thx to demuxing with dvd2avi?

I use DVD2AVI to create a .d2v file and demux the audio files from the vobs. As a result of that, I got the following name for my main .ac3 file which is Minority AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3.

Notice it say 2ch? Does that mean its a 2 channel audio file? I keep on getting a error when trying to insert this into WM9 encoder when trying to do multichannel encoding, which lead me to believe that I keep on getting a 2 channel ac3 file. If not any idea what's going on? Thx

"3_2ch" = DD5.0ch or DD5.1ch. 3 front, 2 rear channels. Doesn't describe LFE channel. But, since the bitrate is 448kbps, I'll bet it's DD5.1ch. Demuxing will extract the raw 448kbps bits in the stream, and you will have a Dolby Digital file (.ac3 format).

Can't help you with WM9 encoding, as I have never done any.

help if you encode to another format before encode to wm9 encoder,like wav or mp2...
maybe this is not a solution,only a remedy!

I was wondering what do you use to convert the .ac3 file into a 5.1 wav file? I use headach3e and everytime I try to input the 5.1 wav file into Nero Mp4 encoder, I get a error. What did I do wrong? I'm using .wav source output with full surround and 16bit option.

I have no idea how to deal with DD WAV. See the Audio Encoding FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7633), questions 24a and b.
