Folks,

Today I run into a strange problem: did The 5th Elements , oversized to 4,62GB (menu @30%, movie @55%, extras @30%, just for the records), than "F5" and OK - the end result came out beautifully just below 4,38GB - actually, 4,707,107,169 bytes, which is just about 200 kB under the DVD5 capacity. Before burn I normally thest the image after a pdi2iso conversion, and than burn it from pdi using IC again.
Now, this image did not burn, and IC said it cannot fit the DVD, and offered four choices, how to complete the burn (ignore, truncate, etc.)
Than, I used pdiextract to get the VIDEO_TS directory content, and burnt the whole unlucky stuff with Prassi - et voila, burnt fine, and the DVD plays in any player I could find, and nothing seems missing.

Strange, isn't it?

Living on the edge can result in errors both in life and encoding.

:)

Yeah... But really the funny thing is that one prog writes nicely the image to the DVD, while the other one does not, though it is bit-by-bit the same content.

I think it would be nice to know, why IC says it would not fit, while - taking the DVD5 spec. - it should.
