Sorry if this thread is repeated elsewhere, I have searched but cannot find it. I am sure I read it somewhere here but at the time I did not have the problem. When I am trying to use Instant copy I am getting the Error Message Access Violation at address 00425B90 in module Multicopy.exe Read of address 00000000
I know this is somewhere on here, has anyone found out how to overcome this.

is that the spy kids rip?
or a different one?
coach

Yes, That is the one. I ripped it minus the vobs that were creating the problems. The movie plays OK in Power DVD without the 8kb vobs. What was the result of the previous thread when this occured as I can't find it.

thought so :)
its looking for the VOB's that don't exist
PowerDVD is not as fussy when it comes to missing VOB's as it normally returns when it comes to a fault
If it was your standalone chance are that that would freeze
you are asking for problems even if you do get it to go into IC
you need to either get another DVDROM and make that region free or flash your writer, or change the region setting on your DVDROM (remember you only have 5 changes), but you can use DVDGENIE for POWERDVD to change to region 1 as they are independent region change counters and this doesnt affect the counter for PowerDVD
how long does it take to rip from your DVD? is it locked @ 2X?
its better to get hold of a 2nd hand or even a new DVDROM as it saves on wear and tear form your burner also
again, you are taking a big chance trying to get it to work from a different region rip

My drive is not locked at R2 but I only have 2 changes left, I played the R1 disc by mistake then changed it back. I have tried to flash the drive but it does not work, it says my drive is already at v2.0. I think yopu have to do it through a dos boot disc but I am not confident enough to do it.

I was unsure at 1st, but if you do it slowly and fully understand instructions everything should be ok
the answers for your posts at DVD BURNING forum point you in the right direction as that forum contains all you need to know about flashing
so it's upto you whether you take the plunge, as I cant help you anymore than this :)

I followed the instructions but it didn't work. Are you on about different ways to install the flash.

just a thought
Im sure I used SmartRipper when I came across this problem before I flashed had flashed my last drive
just use the FILES mode in smartripper and rip the ones you want
I dunno if you have to play the DVD 1st or not to unlock it, but might be worth a try if you dont have to

I tried Smart Ripper, It runs really slow from the beginning all night and 20% ripped. I tried it with only the files I need but it would not rip them. I have imported the ripped files minus the 8kb vobs into DVD95Copy and reduced the size ready to burn and it still plays in Power DVD. Are you saying that if I copy the movie toi disc that it will not play in my stand alone.

yes, that's what I'm saying
PowerDVD is not as fussy about DVD structure
are you still missing 2 VOB's?
what do they contain?
you could always use the blank one in my guide
then get the IFO and click Delete playback for both VOB's
so at least the VOB is there, but when referred to by the DVD player it will not play and just return to where it came

Here is what I have done, these are the missing vobs.
VTS_02_0 vob 8kb
VTS_03_0 vob 8kb
VTS_04_0 vob 8kb
VTS_05_0 vob 8kb
VTS_05_1 vob 68kb
VTS_06_0 to VTS_20_0 vobs all 8kbs big.
I imported all ifos into IfoEdit and ran Get VTS Sectors. I then imported it into DVD95Copy and reduced the size to fit a DVD-r. I then burnt the disc using Nero in UDF/ISO mode. The disc does not play in my Sony but it plays in my Reoc A5.
Any views on this

like I said some standalones are fussy and some ain't :)
I can't offer any more advice as I have never used the Get VTS feature that much cos I never really need to and if I do I use Ifoupdate
