Ifoedit just messes everything up

When I use Ifoedit on a VTS_01 set, everything works fine. If I use it to stip something from a higher numbered VTS set (like 07), my end result is called VTS_01 again.

If I look at the resulting VIDEO_TS.IFO file, I really just can't copy it back to my working VIDEO_TS folder because its missing everything from my *other* VTS sets that work.

Is there a way around this behavior?

What is your objective? Creating two or more title sets for burning on one dvd-r with a menu, or creating one title set for autoplay (without menu)? First option is very difficult with current generation non-commercial programs. Pinnacle's Instantcopy may work but I have not tried/verified this. Option 2 works with ifoedit, just use a separate destination directory. After ripping, I suggest that you copy protect all the files that smartripper or dvddecryter created. This way, ifoedit cannot overwrite these.

There are two titles on this DVD, and am removing an audio track from the second VTS set. The resulting files in my temp folder show as VTS_01 (instead of VTS_02) and it appears my video_ts.ifo is missing references to the first VTS set.

Perhaps I am not using it correctly, but I don't know when to keep the IFO it makes, and when to erase it and put the original IFO back in (while keeping the newer VOB's).

OK, now I tried it on my first VTS_01 set. I stripped one of the audio streams. The resulting VTS_01_0.IFO file has no Menu Language Unit section and no "Menu Language Units". Is this normal?

Are u using the vob extras button? when using ifoedit to strip something out make sure you have correct original ifo files checked and create new ifo files unchecked in the options and auto copy menu files. Also make sure you choose a different folder for the stripped files. Once ifoedit is finished then copy the rest of the other files to the directory.Then close and reopen ifoedit and then press get vts sectors. It sounds like you are creating new ifo files, if you do that then there will be no menu table and the resulting files will indeed be renamed to vts_1.
