I have been trying to backup Spy Kids 2 for the last week and I am extremely frustrated.
The problem is that the DVD-R play fine all the way through until about Chapter 17 or so. It freezes and also I cannot skip to the next chapter after certain chapter and when I fast forward, it freezes also. This only happens in the last few chapters. VERY VERY ANNOYING!!!!
This is what I did:
I ripped the DVD using Decrypter and only ripped the movie files (VOB's, and VTS_01_0.IFO associated with the main movie).
Then I moved the VTS_01_0.IFO to a temp folder to copy the subtitle colors later.
Then with only the VOB's in my folder, I used IfoEdit to create IFO. After it's done I open the original IFO to copy the sub color and paste to the new IFO. And that's it. The movie itself is around 4.3 GB so it fits nicely.
I proceeded to use NERO and burnt that using DVD Video template.
The movie as I said before runs thru more than 3/4 of the entire movie without any issues on my Pioneer 525. Then it freezes at a specific point all the time. The same point. Also, I noticed that I can't skip to next chapter at around chapter 13 which is a few chapters before it freezes.
Had anyone ran into a similar issue? I am 100% sure it's not the media as I tried using the bundled DVD-RW 1X that came with my Cendyne drive, also on a Pioneer 2X DVD-RW, and on True 2X DVD-R media (Princo) and they all have the same issue and same point it freezes.
I also don't think it's the DVD player because I can actually play the movie. It just stops after chapter 17. I also tried it on my buddy's Sony 5-disc DVD player and same issue. VERY VERY FRUSTRATING AND ANNOYING!!!
Did I say VERY VERY ANNOYING?
