I'm using BSPlayer with divxdec.ax. What registry-settings will give me best playback-quality?

You do realize that these settings are the same as if you pop open the the divx decoder filter properties, right? You don't have to edit them through the registry.

As for the *best settings* it is all a matter of taste. If you have a noisy video, you can turn up the postprocessing, but the higher you put it, the less sharp and detailed the video will be. So highest setting is probably not what you want to use all the time. I actually prefer not to do any postprocessing.

enable YUV and Overlay Extended Modes on the second tab of the decoder config panel.
I turn Film Effects on full, and use Divx playa to turn quality settings to max (since it wont in the decoder config for some reason)

Forgot to say that since I only use the divxdec.ax-file I don't have access to "divx decoder filter properties". BSPlayer give me access to a few of them, but not all. Anyway, have got answers to some of the settings. Anyone know what "Double Buffering" does?

Just saw this about the new 5.04-beta:
"DirectShow decoder postprocessing slider became disabled with ATI radeon 9700 Graphics card."

Anyone tried who much CPU-load the Radeon 9700 ease the CPU, is it the same as disabling postprocessing?

double buffering tries to add more stress to your video card and buffers an additional frame (instead of just 1 frame). can cause better play back of non B encoded avi but it seems to cause errors in decoding and skip frames or incorrectly decode frames if theres B encoded frames in the avi

you may want to enable smooth playback as it helps reduce cpu load on B frame encoded avi

ps: some say double buffering is buggy

btw to disable the postprocessing (i prefer that setting to see if my encodes have any noticeable DCT luma problems)
